Ron Wood Memorial

Written by:
Saturday, April 8, 2017

Do you know why our park is named Ron Wood Baseball Park?

Our park is named after Ron Wood a Police Officer that was shot and killed during a foot pursuit in 2002. In 2003 our baseball park was dedicated with his name. We love our park and many have enjoyed years of playing here.

This year during the Hit-a-Thon/Pictures/Breakfast day we will be dedicating a memorial to the community. You can already see the construction starting at our fields. We are excited for this opportunity to give back and look forward to an amazing day at the fields. The dedication will begin at 11am that day. There will be many things on top of what is already happening at our fields that day. Take a moment now and share with your children what happened years ago so they can understand it that day.

It's going to be a great day at the ball park.

Play Ball

Written by:
Sunday, April 2, 2017

1- Just a few reminders as we start the season. This year the City has asked that we be a "SEED FREE" ball park. Please help us by not bringing sunflower seeds, peanuts, pistachios, etc to the ball park.

2- NO bikes, rollerblades, scooters, wiggle cars, trikes, Dogs are allowed in Ron Wood Park. This is a city rule and we have to enforce it.

3 - Rainout hotline (8016645312) Please remember that sometimes the city will not allow us to play and they try to let us know before 4pm. Sometimes rain starts at 4:30 and soaks the fields enough we cannot play a 5:30 game. Please make sure you are watching the website prior to coming to the fields. We update our rainout hotline as soon as we know of a problem. We will also update the website. This will show on the main page right in the middle. Somedays we have to cancel 5:30 games but will play 7:30 games. We try to keep you updated as soon as we know.

4- Jackets - It is always 5-10 degrees cooler at the ball park than at your home. Please come prepared!. Layer players but make sure the team hoodie is the top layer.

5- Parking - Please remember that parking in the Red Zones is not permitted and you could be ticketed for parking in the spots. There is additional parking in the North lot. We will have the North gate opened nightly at 5pm. (Somedays we forget....Please be patience with us) Also please do not park on the main road. Even with it being a little wider this year. It makes passing vehicles really scary.

Please make sure your children are not climbing the fences, trees or electrical boxes.
